Enrichment

Oak Meadow offers its students a variety of extracurricular programs to promote personal growth and cultural awareness. Community service projects encourage compassion and civic responsibility. Pursuits often enhance academic learning.

Science Fair - Students in grades three through eight participate in the science fair in March. The fair is held in the daytime as well as the evening to accommodate fellow students, families and guests.

Winterfest is a unique nature and science-based program celebrating the winter season with a focus on community for Children’s House 3rd-Year students through grade 8. Each level participates in three Winterfest events during the months of January and February, with some occuring onsite and others at local venues for older students. One important element of Winterfest is that each event will offer an opportunity for the students to interact with students from another program level, an essential part of Oak Meadow's commitment to bridging the program levels.

Boston Symphony Orchestra - Grades one through six attend special youth programs run by the symphony once a year.

Chelmsford Performing Arts - Students attend various stage performances that enhance school studies.

Community Service - All grades participate in community service with a focus on benefiting the wider community.

After School Programs - Offerings vary from season to season and include such activities as: yoga, crafts, drama, homework club and other fun activities.  An extensive choice of voice and musical instrument lessons are also available through the Oak Meadow Conservatory. View our current offering of after school programs.

School Trips - Trips include: Nature’s Classroom (grades 4-6), Leadership School (grades 7-8), New York City (grade 6), and an annual spring trip planned by and for the Middle School students (grades 7-8). Recent destinations have included a Civil Right Tour through parts of Georgia and Alabama, and a week in and around Washington, DC.  Some Middle School students are also selected by their peers each year to participate in the Montessori Model United Nations Conference in NYC.

Before- and After-Care - Before-Care is offered from 8:00 to 8:20 AM. After-Care is offered from 3:40 to 6:00 PM.

Fun Days - Supervised Fun Days are offered for an additional fee from Tuesday through Friday during February and April vacations. Child care services are also available on Professional Development Days and during Parent/Teacher conference days when normal classes are not in session.
