The committee is made up of parents and parent alumni whose volunteer efforts have helped grow the Annual Fund since its beginning in 2004. Meet the 2007-2008 Annual Fund Committee
Darlene Vanstone, Chair Darlene and her family joined the Oak Meadow community in 2005 when son, Stephen, entered Children’s House. Stephen is now in his third year of Children’s House with Ms. Miras and Mrs. Spawn. Darlene has an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and a law degree. She has spent most of her professional career in the start-up and early stage biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in the Boston area and has participated in attracting investment and venture capital on behalf of her employers. This is Darlene’s second year as a member of the Annual Fund Committee.
Beth Dube Beth is in her fourth year as an Oak Meadow parent. Her oldest son Jamieson is in his first year in Lower Elementary in Ms. Wise’s classroom. Her youngest son Brendan is in his first year in Children’s House in Mrs. Huang’s classroom, where Beth serves as a room parent. She has become active over the past several years with fundraising while working on national and local political campaigns. When not shuttling her boys to sporting events and activities, Beth enjoys running, skiing, music and reading.
Michelle LaMarre-Waldie Michelle and her family joined the Oak Meadow community in 2003. Her daughter Mary Kate is in the Middle School and son Craig is in Mrs. Trani’s Upper Elementary class. Her son Jake, an OMMS alum, is now a freshman at Lawrence Academy in Groton. This is Michelle’s second year serving as a member of the Annual Fund Committee. She sees her work with this committee as a way to give something back to Oak Meadow since it has given so much to her children.
Anita Tarantino Anita Tarantino and her family joined the Oak Meadow Family in 2003. Kathryn, her oldest child is in Mrs. McKay’s Lower Elementary class as a second year student. Angela her youngest, is in Ms. Vanwassenhove’s Children’s House class as a second year student. Anita has had the pleasure of being the room parent over the years for both girls and is excited to serve on the Annual Fund Committee. Anita is currently finishing up a sabbatical which started this summer, but as the leaves start to fall so must she return to the working world. Anita is committed to Oak Meadow and all the wonderful things it brings to our children on this journey of Montessori education.
Beth Zeranski Beth Zeranski and her family joined Oak Meadow in 2005. Her son, Alex, is a seventh-grade student in Middle School. Beth and her husband, Richard Moyse, have enjoyed volunteering on the boards for Hockey and Little League, Church Group and assorted town organizations. In her spare time, Beth can frequently be found shivering in hockey rinks, bug-eaten in baseball fields, or relaxing watching Alex fence. Beth works for the most wonderful hi-tech company, AMD, on the next generation of processors with a focus on virtualization.
